PlaylistMarket is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Spotify.
2. What the service is
PlaylistMarket is a marketplace where artists pay for a playlist curator's time to listen to a song and write a review. Credits buy a review, not a placement. Whether a song is added to a playlist is solely the curator's decision: it is their own editorial choice and is never bought, guaranteed or implied by a submission. Curators are paid for reviewing, whether they accept or decline.
We provide the platform. The review, the decision and the playlist are the curator's. We do not promise streams, followers, placements or any other result.
By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are a curator, the Curator Terms also apply. Where the Curator Terms say something more specific, they apply to your curating.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login details safe. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
One person or organisation may hold one account. The same account can be both an artist and a curator, but you may never review your own songs, send songs to your own playlists or use a second account to do either.
We may suspend or close accounts as described in section 15.
4. Credits and payments
Submissions are paid with credits. You get credits by paying for a credit pack, through a monthly plan or, once, through the welcome offer. Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. They include VAT where VAT applies, so the price you see is the price you pay. Your bank may charge its own fee for paying in dollars.
Credits are added to your balance as soon as your payment succeeds. They never expire. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.
Credits are non-refundable once you have them, except in the cases listed in the Refund and Withdrawal Policy, where a submission's credits come back to your balance. Because credits are digital content delivered immediately, before you pay we ask you to confirm that you want them delivered straight away and that you then lose your 14-day statutory right of withdrawal (the 14-day withdrawal waiver). We record that confirmation and repeat it in your receipt.
Welcome offer. New artist accounts can get one discounted credit pack within 7 days of signing up, once per account. It works like any other credit pack. If you pay for it twice by mistake, the second payment is refunded automatically.
Payments are handled by Stripe. If a payment is reversed (a chargeback), the credits it added are taken back. Your balance can go below zero, and you cannot send songs until it is settled.
5. Plans
Plans are monthly subscriptions. The current plans, their prices and their monthly credits are on the Pricing page. A plan renews automatically each month and adds its credits when each payment succeeds. Credits from a plan never expire and stay yours after the plan ends.
- Upgrading starts straight away. You pay the price difference for the rest of the current month, and you get extra credits in proportion to what you paid.
- Downgrading, or switching to a plan at the same price, takes effect at the end of the current month. Nothing is refunded for the current month.
- You can cancel at any time in your wallet or in the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you paid for and then stops. Cancelling does not refund the current month.
- If a renewal payment fails, we tell you and try again. No credits are added for a month that is not paid, and Autopilot pauses. If the payment stays unpaid, the plan ends.
- If your plan allows fewer artist profiles than you have, the extra profiles are locked (read only) until you upgrade again. Your default profile stays open.
If we change the price of a plan, we tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal at the new price. You can cancel before then.
Plans and Curator Premium start as soon as you pay. So, as with credits, before you pay for a new plan, a plan upgrade or Curator Premium, we ask you to tick a box confirming that you want it to start straight away and that you then lose your 14-day right of withdrawal for that payment. We record that confirmation (version, time, IP address and browser) and repeat it in your receipt email. If you do not tick the box you cannot complete the payment, and nothing is charged. Renewals do not need a new confirmation, and you can cancel at any time: the plan then ends at the end of the month you paid for.
6. Submissions and reviews
When you send a song to a playlist, its credit price is held until the review is done. The curator has 72 hours to review. Every review includes written feedback of at least 150 characters, except a "wrong genre" decision, which only needs a short note. Part of the price pays the curator for the review, whether they accept or decline.
A submission buys a review, not a placement. Acceptance is solely the curator's decision, so a decline is a completed review and is not refunded. Each playlist's acceptance rate is shown before you send. The first time you send a song, we ask you to confirm that you understand this.
If the curator does not respond in time, or marks the song as the wrong genre for the playlist, the credits return to your balance in full. Our refund policy lists every case in which credits come back.
7. Placements and how we check them
If a song is accepted, the curator commits to adding it to the playlist within 48 hours and keeping it there for at least 30 days.
We check placements through official sources, more often in the first days after an accept. First Spotify tells us, free of charge, whether a playlist has changed since our last look. If it has, we read the playlist from a licensed music-data provider. At a few key moments we may also ask you whether your song is on the playlist. Please answer honestly: we compare answers with our data, and false answers count against your account.
A song only counts as missing after two checks at least a day apart, or after you tell us. The curator is then told and gets 3 days to put it back. If we cannot confirm either way, nothing happens against the curator. A placement we could not confirm by the end of the 30 days ends without a strike or a refund.
If an accepted song is never added, your credits are refunded. Curators who remove songs early receive strikes, and from a curator's second active strike on, the artist is refunded for that song. If a song is no longer available on Spotify, its placement ends without a strike or a refund.
8. Disputes
You may dispute a review within 7 days of the decision, only on the grounds that the review broke our rules (for example, feedback that is too short, generic, copied, not about your song, or abusive). Disagreeing with a decline is not a ground for a dispute. You can have up to 2 disputes open at once. If 3 of your disputes are rejected within 90 days, you cannot open new ones for 30 days. Automatic refunds keep working as usual.
Disputes are decided by our team or automatically (see section 10). If a dispute is upheld, your credits are refunded and the curator's share is taken back. Once a person has reviewed a dispute decision, it is final on the platform. You keep your other legal rights.
9. Autopilot
Autopilot, also called auto-send, is for artists with an active plan. It is off by default and works the same on every plan. If you turn on Autopilot for a song, you authorise us to send that song for review once a month or once a week, on the schedule you choose, to the playlists that best match it, using credits from your balance up to the monthly limit you set. We record your consent when you turn it on.
Matching is automated and AI-assisted. After our matching rules (genre, language, curator health score, never a playlist that already reviewed the song, never your own playlist), an AI model scores how well the song's details (genres, moods, language, title, artist name and profile bio) fit each playlist's details (name, genres, moods, languages, description, and what the curator is and is not looking for). The AI does not listen to your audio, and a match is not a prediction or promise that a curator will add your song.
We never use more than your limit in a calendar month or more than your balance. You get a heads-up 48 hours before each send and can skip it or turn Autopilot off at any time. A skipped or cancelled send uses no credits. Autopilot submissions are reviews like any other, with the same refund and dispute rules. Autopilot stops at the end date you chose or when you turn it off, and pauses if your plan lapses. It never restarts without your fresh confirmation.
10. Automated decisions and AI
Automated decisions. Some decisions are made automatically, using our rules and an AI model that reads the information involved (for example the review, the dispute reason and our placement checks): disputes, strike reviews and appeals against a rejected or paused playlist. Every automatic decision is logged, and our team can reverse it within 7 days. You can always ask for a person to look at a decision about you, give your side and have it explained: ask in Help in the app or email support@playlist.market, and a person will review it.
We also use automated checks to keep the marketplace honest: playlist scans for artificial activity, placement checks, and fraud checks on payments and payouts. A check can hold or pause something until it is cleared. It never takes credits or money from you without a rule in these terms behind it.
Our support assistant is an AI. Every reply it writes says so. Reply "human" or ask for a person at any time, and a member of our team takes over. Legal questions, chargebacks and appeals against a ban always go to a person, and only a person can grant a refund outside the automatic cases.
11. How playlists are shown
The market only shows playlists that match your filters, and the playlists for a song only include those that fit its genre and language. "Best match" orders them mainly by the curator's health score and by how well the playlist's genres fit your songs. You can also sort by acceptance rate, reply speed, size or newest.
Curator Premium is a paid plan for curators. Premium curators' playlists get a small boost in the "Best match" order, and each can have one playlist shown in the "Featured" row, but only when it fits your songs. That row is marked as a paid placement, and its playlists carry a "Featured · Premium" badge. Premium never changes a curator's review rules or your price. No one can pay to influence a review or to get a placement.
12. Affiliated curators
Some curators on the platform may be affiliated with the platform operator (including curators employed by or operated by us). Affiliated curators are held to the same review rules, deadlines, feedback requirements and placement commitments as every other curator, and submissions to them are priced and refunded the same way.
13. Your content and ours
You keep all rights to your music and to what you upload. You confirm that you own or control the rights to every song you submit and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, show and send what you add (song links, details, images, bio and feedback) only as far as needed to run the platform, for as long as it is on the platform.
Song and playlist details, artwork and players come from Spotify. They belong to Spotify and the rights holders and are shown under Spotify's terms.
Written feedback belongs to the curator who wrote it. The artist may use it for their own purposes but may not publish it as a public endorsement. The curator lets us show it to the artist and use it to run the platform, for example in disputes.
The first time an artist profile is set to a Spotify artist, you declare that you are that artist or are authorised to promote their music. We record that declaration. Misrepresenting your authorisation can lead to the removal of the profile and its songs, and to suspension of your account. Rights holders who believe a profile promotes their music without permission can report it to us and we will review it.
The platform, its software, design and brand belong to PlaylistGrow, trading as PlaylistMarket. You may use them only to use the service as intended.
14. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Buy or sell placements, on or off the platform, or offer curators money, gifts or favours in exchange for an accept (payola).
- Use bots, fake streams, fake followers or any other artificial activity, for your songs or your playlists.
- Scrape the platform, access it with automated tools, or try to get around its limits or security.
- Pretend to be another artist, curator or person, or claim a playlist or artist you do not control.
- Submit music you do not have the rights to, or content that is illegal, hateful or sexually explicit.
- Harass curators, artists or our team, or abuse the dispute or support process.
- Give false answers about placements or streams, or use more than one account to get offers, reviews or earnings you are not entitled to.
- Make deals with curators or artists that avoid the platform.
15. Reports, suspension and ending
Anyone can report content or behaviour that is illegal or breaks these terms by emailing support@playlist.market or through Help in the app. Tell us what it is, where it is and why it is a problem. We review reports carefully and tell the person who reported it what we decided.
We may remove content, pause playlists, hold earnings, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, puts other users at risk, or is involved in fraud. We act in proportion to what happened. We tell you what we did and why, unless the law or an investigation does not allow it, and you can ask for a person to review the decision.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion waits until open reviews, disputes and payouts are finished. Unused credits end with the account and are not refunded.
If we close your account without a breach on your part, or stop the service, we refund your unused paid credits in money. We give at least 30 days' notice when we can.
16. Liability
We work hard to keep the platform running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for the curator's decision, for what happens on Spotify, or for any result of a review, such as streams, followers or placements.
We are liable for damage that is a direct and foreseeable result of our failure to meet these terms. We are not liable for loss of profit, lost opportunities or other indirect loss. If you use the platform for your business, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot be limited by law.
17. Complaints, law and courts
If something went wrong, email support@playlist.market or use Help in the app. We confirm we received your complaint and aim to answer within 14 days.
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, but as a consumer you may also start a case in the courts of the country where you live.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the platform or the law changes. We tell you about material changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes required by law, or to stop fraud or abuse, may take effect sooner. The version date is shown at the top of this page.
If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect. If the change is materially to your disadvantage and you do so, we refund your unused paid credits in money.
